Find out how four balloon professionals respond to common customer questions and comments including “Why do balloons cost so much?”
Have you ever been in a situation where a customer questions the value of your balloon work (whether intentionally or not)? Once your initial frustration subsides, take it as an opportunity to educate the customer, change perceptions, and position yourself as the professional! Here, fellow balloon pros share advice on responding to some commonly asked questions.
The Comment: “But they’re just balloons… Why do they cost so much?”
The Opportunity: Educate the customer about the labor/skills involved, the quality of the product (i.e., you use The Very Best Balloons), and the level of customer service you provide.
The Response:
Tammy Corzine, Celebrations (Delphos, Ohio, U.S.): My typical response is: “We invest a lot of time and money to attend conventions and seminars to learn the latest designs. We also invest a lot in top-of-the-line equipment, high-quality balloons, and other products needed to create professional decor.”
Chris Potts, Balloon Masters (Buffalo, NY, U.S.): My response is, “Balloons are just the medium we use to create amazing decor. We use balloons to capture the air, add color, and sculpt amazing Arches, Columns, and Swags with an equally fantastic value considering the volume of decor you actually receive.”
