The health and safety of my employees is very important to me. It is just plain sensible to provide my staff with suitable equipment to install our work rather than expecting them to balance on unstable chairs or tables.
I am aware sometimes decorators like to insist a decor item be in a particular place, but for health and safety reasons it’s best to ensure escape routes are not made narrower by a decor piece.
Recently lighting has become a big part of our decor. I think it’s important to use only lights that have been tested for safety by a recognized testing laboratory, which indicates conformance with safety standards. I recommend only using lights that have fused plugs indoors or outdoors.
