Is your balloon business on Facebook? Twitter? Instagram? Find out which social media channels are right for your business.
Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, Google+, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Snapchat… The number of social media platforms is enough to make your head spin – and there are many more to come! How can you find the right one to promote your business? As a small business owner, you probably don’t have time to master each of them. And if you do try to be everywhere all the time, chances are your presence will be irregular and scattered. Here are a few tips to pick the right social media platform and bring results that mean business.
Facebook is 10 years old yet remains the dominant player with roughly 50 percent of all Internet users in the world using the network.* Seventy-one perfect of U.S. online adults are Facebook users (September 2013).** So if you own a business in the U.S., chances are the people you want are there. Sixty-three percent of Facebook users visit the site at least once a day, with 40 percent doing so multiple times a day** - which means more opportunities for you to engage them.
YouTube, Twitter, and Instagram reach a smaller and younger demographic, while Twitter tends to gather more urban people with a higher education level. The newer the social media outlet, the younger its audience. So don’t feel like you have to rush to all the shiny new things – it might not be the target you need for your business!
