Analogous Color Harmony
Often found in nature, an analogous color harmony consists of any three colors that lie side-by-side on the color wheel. These schemes are low contrast, soothing, and more visually interesting than monochromatic color harmonies while still being very harmonious.
Many designers use the 60-30-10 rule when composing analogous designs, designating:
- one color to be dominant (60% of the design)
- another color to be supportive (30% of the design)
- and the last color to be used for accents (10% of the design)
